Voice of Customers | 333 cities, 389,000 kilometers! SAIC-IM Motors Highway Navigation Pilot officially connects the country!

Another milestone for SAIC-IM and Momenta: The Highway Navigation Pilot (HNP) now includes 333 cities across China, with the network of applicable roads extending to 389,000 kilometers.

HNP is a highly advanced autonomous driving feature designed for highways and city expressways, available in the IM Autonomous Driving Navigation on Autopilot (IMAD NOA) system. This advanced system was collaboratively developed by Momenta—a shining unicorn in the autonomous driving industry—and IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Alibaba, and ZhangJiang Hi-Tech specializing in electric vehicle manufacturing.

Leveraging Momenta's data-driven AI capabilities and rapid iteration through closed-loop automation, HNP offers navigation on highways and city expressways, automated lane changes, automated on/off-ramp management, traffic light recognition, collision avoidance, and more. These features enhance the intelligent driving experience by making it more secure, comfortable, and efficient.

IMAD NOA's HNP has been fully tested and verified through seven rounds of public testing. The latest expansion adds highways in nine provinces—Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Guangxi, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang- and city expressways in 28 cities. These are now officially available to users of the SAIC-IM car lines L7, LS7, and LS6. With this expansion, IMAD NOA's HNP has successfully extended its network to cover 333 cities and 389,000 kilometers of highways and city expressways across China.
