SAIC-GM Buick and Momenta have launched a strategic collaboration to co-develop full-scenario urban assisted driving solutions. Leveraging Momenta’s proven expertise in mass-produced assisted driving technology, the partnership aims to accelerate development cycles and enhance Buick's vehicle capabilities. New Buick models featuring Momenta’s next-generation urban assisted driving system will launch in the second half of this year.
Momenta, the first in the industry to release a mass-production-grade “Flywheel LLM” (a large language model for assisted driving), has unified perception and planning into an end-to-end system. This integration enables Buick vehicles to offer seamless assisted driving, from parking in tight spaces to navigating city streets, delivering an elevated user experience.
Founded nine years ago, Momenta focuses on practical, customer-oriented innovation. It has previously collaborated with both SAIC and General Motors.
Buick brings a well-established testing and validation framework for urban assisted driving, from component-level to real-world road testing. This comprehensive system ensures safety and reliability through measurable standards.
The collaboration combines Buick’s advanced sensor systems and vehicle control with Momenta’s efficient algorithms to create an urban driving solution that anticipates and avoids risks. With 26 years in the Chinese market, Buick continues to evolve user-focused features that understand not only vehicles, but also drivers.
As intelligent automotive technologies scale globally, this partnership underscores the value of aligned strengths and shared vision. Together, SAIC-GM Buick and Momenta aim to set a new standard for the integration and adoption of intelligent technologies worldwide.
